Alessio was an Associate Researcher at the University of Zurich.

He holds a PhD in marketing from the University of Groningen, Faculty of Economics and Business. His research interests have revolved around social influence, word-of-mouth, network science, innovation diffusion, new product introduction, social media and advertising.

His research has been published in top marketing journals such as Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Product Innovation Management, International Journal of Research in Marketing.

Methodologically, his research involves the use of big data and computational methods such as agent-based-models to study marketing dynamics and to simulate the effects of managers’ decisions on the real market. He has taught several courses on Innovation Diffusion, Marketing Modeling, Marketing Research, New Product Development, e-commerce, Marketing Management, and Agent Based Modeling.
