Patrizia Pesenti studied law at the University of Zurich and was admitted to the bar.  She started working as a lawyer before being elected in the Government of the Canton Ticino (Southern Switzerland). Reelected for three terms, she headed the Ministry of Health and Insurances. Her achievements include building a forward-looking healthcare system, among others introducing e-health card and e-health record. She served as a member of the board of several Hospitals. In her current position at Ringier, she is among others responsible for the challenging initiative DigitalZurich2025, which aim to strengthen Swiss economy and businesses to grow through digital transformation and increase the number of digital start-ups in Switzerland and the volume of international investments into them.
