In his research, Nicolas focuses on how exogenous as well as endogenous stimuli and processes affect (consumer) decision making over time. His aim is to understand individual behavior in complex decision environments such as consumption, education, and politics. To track these phenomena, he relies on laboratory experiments – using automatic, process-based measures – and combines these with secondary data from large-scale, digital field experiments that map actual (consumer) decision journeys.
