Research Associate at ETH Zurich

Joel is a PhD Candidate and Research Associate at the Chair of Technology Marketing, ETH Zurich. His research focuses data-​driven decision-​making and policy evaluation in digital marketing and digital health by developing and applying novel causal inference, statistics and machine learning methods. Examples from his research include learning optimal dynamic content curation policies for websites and developing decision-​support for near real-​time epidemic monitoring.

Prior to starting his PhD, Joel held operational and analytical roles in publishing, digital marketing, and market research, and worked as a teaching assistant at Lund University Faculty of Engineering. In his spare time, he enjoys skateboarding, weightlifting and music production.
