Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Zurich

Zhao Yang is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Marketing for Social Impact and at the URPP Social Networks at the University of Zurich. He has a physics background and earned his bachelor’s degree from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and his master’s degree from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. Zhao joined the Chair for Marketing and Market Research in 2013 and finished his doctoral studies on Unethical Customer Behavior at the beginning of 2017. His research interests lie in marketing ethics, observational learning, community detection, and social network analysis. He is currently working on bitcoin network, social learning, and hierarchical benchmark graphs. Zhao works as a teaching assistant for the courses “Network Theory and Analytics” and “Marketing and Social Networks” at Bachelor- and Master-level.

In his spare time, he likes playing table tennis and watching movies. Zhao believes that “The actual state of our knowledge is always provisional and … there must be, beyond what is actually known, immense new regions to discover – Louis de Broglie”.
