Title: Sharing data for social good – Would you be willing to donate your personal information?

Claudia Wenzel presented her research together with Anne Scherer that analyses why people are happy to use services for a personal benefit, but are reluctant to use services for a societal benefit. Using the current example of the SwissCovid app they show that asking people to use a service that serves a social good (containing the spread of the coronavirus), they overestimate the costs and rather not use the service due to their privacy concerns. They discuss results from two intervention strategies, which ultimately aim at fostering a more positive attitude towards sharing data for a societal good.
